Blogsy 3.0
Last week the kind folk at Posterous were nice enough to gift me a freebie of Blogsy, an iPad blogging app. It has some neat features, such as integration with Flickr and Picasa Web Albums, and being able to drag and drop images and links from other sites. Wordpress and Blogger have been supported since way back, with Posterous support being added recently.
There was a bit of a learning curve - the app has what they call the "rich" side and the "write" side. It took me a little while to work out that I couldn't actually enter text on the "rich" side; you had to swipe over to the other view, enter your text there, then head back to the "rich" side for formatting, etc.
Version 3 has just appeared in my software updates, and thankfully it has fixed all that - text can now be entered on either view, so for most users there's probably no need to change views. The authors obviously feel the same way, because they've changed the swipe action to three fingers.
It's not perfect - I noticed that there are are some issues with the text entry window not scrolling as I type (not a big deal, you can just swipe up or down, but I'm lazy!), and the URL entry box popped up half off the edge of the screen.
Overall though, it's not bad. Check out the web site, they have a bunch of videos that give a good overview of the app in operation. (Of course, the ability to get an eval app or a refund would be even better, but that's a different issue altogether!)
